How to Start a Gratitude Practice That Sticks

Gratitude journaling is one of the most researched and effective happiness interventions, but most people abandon it within weeks because they approach it wrong. The key is specificity. Writing I am grateful for my family is too vague to create emotional impact. Writing I am grateful for the way my daughter laughed when she saw a puppy on our walk this morning activates genuine feeling. Pair your gratitude practice with an existing habit like morning coffee or brushing teeth. This eliminates the need to remember. Keep your journal visible as a cue. Do not worry about doing it every single day. Three to four times weekly provides most of the benefit.

Small consistent actions create the most lasting changes. Thank you for being part of our community.
